I build websites around what you need to publish and how you want to manage it. A content management system, or CMS, lets you edit pages without changing code. I can help choose and set up one that suits the content you’ll be adding.
A site may need to save extra information from a form or handle a task differently. I work with PHP and Laravel, tools used to build the parts of a website that process and store information. I can investigate an existing setup and extend it.
Perhaps visitors need to narrow down a collection by category or complete a form with several steps. I build these kinds of features using Vue and Nuxt, tools for the parts of a site people interact with. I pay attention to what happens when someone makes a mistake or has no results to view.
An API is a way for software to exchange information. If your website needs to send a request to another tool or display information from it, I can check what that tool supports and build the connection. I’ll also look at what the site should do when the other system doesn’t respond.
I’ll start by asking who will use the website or feature and what they need to do. A sketch or an example is welcome. From there, I can look at the existing setup, discuss the work involved and agree with you on what to build first. You can review it as it takes shape.
I track my time and invoice periodically. We discuss scope and priorities together, so you know what I’m working on and why.
